Choosing the Right Fill
Fill is where most of the cooling happens. It spreads hot water over a large surface so the air passing through can cool it. The right fill depends on your tower design and water quality: crossflow and counterflow towers use different fills, and low-clog counterflow fills are designed for water with a higher risk of fouling. Drift eliminators sit after the fill and catch water droplets before the air leaves the tower.
Crossflow Fills
Marley crossflow film fills have louvers and drift eliminators built into the fill sheets, so no separate louvers or eliminators are needed.
Marley MX Crossflow Film Fill
A hanging film fill that spreads water into a thin film over large vertical sheets for maximum contact with the air. Available in the MX75 configuration and the higher-performing MX625.
Marley MBX Crossflow Film Fill
A bottom-supported PVC pack fill designed for fill replacement. Packs from 24″ to 48″ air travel fit almost any crossflow cooling tower, whatever its age or manufacturer.

A film fill that can be hung or bottom-supported in almost any counterflow tower. Replacing splash fill with MC75 usually allows a lower fill height and pumping head, with more cooling capacity.

Drift Eliminators
Drift eliminators catch small water droplets carried out of the tower by the airflow. This reduces water loss and keeps drift off nearby buildings and equipment.
Marley XCEL TU Drift Eliminator
A cellular PVC drift eliminator with separate designs for crossflow and counterflow towers, achieving typical drift rates as low as 0.0005% of the total water flow. It needs little or no maintenance.
